The San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce Supports Measure V

Support San Mateo and Foster City Schools Donate to the Yes on Measure V Campaign!

On November 6, voters in the San Mateo-Foster City School District will be asked to vote on the Excellence in Education Measure that would generate roughly $10 million annually for nine years through a $298 per year parcel tax, so that the District can attract and retain excellent teachers and staff, and provide outstanding academic programs.

Our school district is chronically underfunded. We receive less money per pupil than most other San Mateo County elementary school districts. Without the revenue from this measure, the district faces a deficit of approximately $5 million per year.

Well-funded schools also have an impact over the broader district community. By raising the value of our properties, attracting new businesses, and building a pipeline of well-prepared young citizens, good schools are key to maintaining the thriving business environment that’s made our area the cradle of innovation and opportunity for so many. As a partner and advocate for our schools, I know you’ll agree that our kids deserve the same.

As a valued member and partner of the San Mateo-Foster City School District, we need your help to succeed.
