Thank you for your support of the San Mateo Chamber of Commerce! Your support coupled with a committed and passionate team working in the Chamber office each day along with a devoted board is what enables the Chamber to continue to grow. The Chamber is focused on helping businesses large and small. I am honored and excited to serve as chair in 2017 to support Cheryl Angeles who I admire and consider a trusted friend.
I moved to the Bay Area in 2008. With few contacts and a desire to grow my business, I joined the Chamber in 2009 to collaborate with other business owners. I started by visiting one of our Business Referral Network groups. Although my business category was filled in the group, I met several members for coffee and when the position opened up, I received three phone calls in one day to join. Through the years I have attended many of our Networking after Hours events, ribbon cuttings as an Ambassador, and graduated from our Leadership Program. The Chamber has many more programs today including our Friday speaker series, Women in Action, Toastmasters and business mentorship. I am proud to say that the Chamber played a significant role for me in the growth of my business and the opportunities to get involved are numerous.
I admire and respect entrepreneurs and small business owners. My dad was a small business owner and I remember the work, dedication and around the clock hours that it took to keep things running smoothly. I feel blessed and fortunate that my dad involved me in the business at such a young age; I was able to see some of the challenges and victories.
The San Mateo Chamber of Commerce plays an important rolein supporting businesses of all shapes and sizes. Our Chamber members have unique gifts and talents that contribute to what makes San Mateo such an amazing place to work and live.
I look forward to another year of growth, innovation and change for the San Mateo Chamber of Commerce and hope to see you all soon. Together we are building a legacy.
